What is a biokineticist?

A biokineticist is a healthcare professional who specialises in rehabilitation and the development of individualised optimal performance. Biokineticists utilise clinical exercise prescription to aid in the restoration of musculoskeletal injuries and the management of chronic, neurological, and respiratory conditions.

Biokineticists work in conjunction with other healthcare professionals to guide patients through all phases of rehabilitation and disease management, providing comprehensive and holistic treatment to their patients.

What do we do?

  • Through clinical assessment and scientific exercise prescription, a biokineticist facilitates in improving individual performance and injury/disease management. Clinical assessments include a written and physical component. The assessment begins with a comprehensive written evaluation to collect the patient’s medical history. Additional areas of assessment may include an evaluation of posture, body composition, blood pressure, blood glucose levels, blood cholesterol levels, lung function, heart rate, fitness, muscular strength, endurance, power, flexibility, and other health screenings.
